Spa Day for My Mac: The 15-Minute Weekly Ritual That Saves Hours

Every Friday, before I shut down for the weekend, I give my Mac a little TLC with CleanMyMac. The whole process takes maybe 15 minutes—just enough time for a quick scan, a cleanup, and a couple of minor updates.

That tiny investment pays me back in hours of saved frustration during the week. No slow startups, no mysterious spinning beach balls, and no surprise “Your disk is almost full” pop-ups in the middle of a Zoom meeting.

Instead, I get peace of mind knowing my Mac is:

  • ✅ Running at peak performance
  • ✅ Free of junk files, old caches, and unused apps
  • ✅ Up to date with the latest security patches
  • ✅ Monitored for any hidden performance issues

It’s like sending my Mac to the spa—quick, refreshing, and exactly what it needs to stay healthy and happy.

If you’re constantly fighting with a sluggish computer, try giving it 15 minutes of maintenance love each week. Your future self (and your productivity) will thank you.

What I Do While My Mac’s at the Spa
Because I believe in multitasking… but only the fun kind… I take these 15 minutes for myself. Some Fridays, I pour a cup of tea, sit by the window in my office and read a few pages of whatever novel I’m currently reading. Other weeks, I roll out my yoga mat and do some gentle stretches (my wrists and shoulders are very grateful).

By the time my Mac is glowing with digital wellness, I’m more relaxed, too. That’s multitasking at its finest—both of us walk away feeling lighter, fresher, and ready for the next thing.
